Academics

WillieRoss > Academics

At Willie Ross School for the Deaf, we understand that education represents a doorway for success and we offer our students the best possible academic opportunities, from pre-K to high school, to ensure that they achieve lifelong success.

As a component of the Massachusetts public school system, WRSD follows the academic plan established in the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework as well as the mandatory MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) testing schedule.  Students’ success on this test and in the classroom has a crucial impact on their prospects for success in life, so our approach to teaching takes into account the many different ways deaf and hard-of-hearing students learn so that we may best prepare them to succeed.
