Mainstreaming

WillieRoss > Mainstreaming

The wider adoption of cochlear implants and recent educational research findings have indicated the need for educational settings to expand their offerings to deaf
and hard-of-hearing students. The Willie Ross School for the Deaf recognizes this deficit in traditional educational options for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and has responded with a system of incremental mainstreaming services.

Often times, deaf students feel isolated when they are mainstreamed in public schools due to an inability to communicate with others or a lack of support from a peer group or teacher of the deaf. The Willie Ross School's approach to mainstreaming addresses this difficult situation, in part, with its Partnership Campus.
