For students who are ready for integrated learning and social experiences, Willie Ross has the ability to provide our students the chance to be with hearing students, when appropriate, by participating in mainstream classes with or without interpreters, based on their individual needs.
Because your child has a hearing loss, your child is behind in language and social skills and needs a special way of learning. All of our teachers are trained as teachers of the deaf. Willie Ross responds to your child and we teach according to those needs.
The Willie Ross School for the Deaf also provides:
- Speech, listening, language therapy
- A full range of audiological services
- Occupational and physical therapy
- Counseling or practicing social skills
- A nurse and a PE teacher who teaches fitness, recreation, and nutrition
- Our school and classrooms are designed for deaf learners with soundfield systems, FMs, carpeted classrooms, Smartboards, computers.
